Treat yourself to the beauty and tranquility of St. Andrews By The Lake.
A place you must see to believe
St. Andrews By The Lake is a place you must see to believe. Blended in with Mother Nature’s perfect setting, our golf resort is set in a beautiful valley near Penticton, BC, where pioneers once rode the historic Oliver Trail. The land moves from rolling hills and hidden valleys, to sunbaked plateaux and breathtaking ravines. Majestic pines sway peacefully above, surrounded by sagebrush and juniper covered hillsides, splashed with the colour of vibrant Indian paintbrush and Okanagan Sunflowers.
Nestled amidst the golf course which opened in 1978, is a semi-arid desert lake lined with towering weeping willow trees that is visited by countless birds and other wildlife throughout the year.
Challenging, fun mid-length course
This challenging yet fun mature mid-length course also features an island, lake hazards and a stone bridge that’s a replica of the one at the original St. Andrews course in Scotland.
For your pre and post game dining pleasure, please be sure to visit The Painted Turtle Bistro inside the clubhouse next to the Golf shop. The large outside patio makes it easy to sit back and relax with friends and fellow golfers.
We look forward to welcoming you to our hidden gem in the South Okanagan for an experience you won’t forget!
History as we know it
In the 1800s, the Prather family journeyed along the Oregon Trail and established their settlement on the same land we know today as St. Andrews, giving rise to the name of the lake visible from the clubhouse. The ranch later morphed into a dude ranch and in the 1940’s, the area was called “Ranch 86”.
In 1960, a Vancouer businessman by the name of Robert Whitman Porter bought the 560 acres of wilderness and began landscaping and creating his plans for St. Andrews By The Lake.
St. Andrews Golf Course opened to the public and homeowners in 1978.
